Regional Sales Manager - AQS

  • Reports To: Director of Sales - AQS

    Position Scope:

    Responsible for generating business and managing manufacturer’s representatives for Air Quality Systems (AQS). The RSM is responsible for developing leads, coordinating and conducting customer presentations and seminars obtaining Purchase Orders for Sales of SEMCO AQS Products, and achieving the company's AQS Sales objectives. In collaboration with other key executives, the AQS Regional Manager will play a key role in the development of long term market development strategies to ensure the continued growth and profitability of the company.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Select, train, develop and manage an effective network of manufacturer representatives in the territory.
    • Set annual orders objectives for each representative firm and then work with the representative to accomplish them.
    • Provide technical and application assistance to reps, engineers and customers.
    • Direct, issue and follow-up quotations in the territory and manage the representative's efforts to negotiate, close, and release orders.
    • Make sales presentations to reps, engineers and customers.
    • Sell direct to customers in territories that are unassigned or in which the current representative is ineffective.
    • Replace ineffective Reps when required
    • Obtain customer purchase orders in accordance with company credit policy, terms and conditions.
    • Prepare and process order write-ups of products sold.
    • Prepare product submittals. (Unitary).
    • Manage and coordinate ongoing projects to maximize SEMCO profits and customer satisfaction.
    • Value engineer projects to maximize closure rates and profits.
    • Continually work towards increasing market share and developing basis of design specifications within the region
    • Prepare sales and marketing forecasts as requested.
    • Work on special projects as directed by the manager.
    • Update CRM and manage project follow up strategies














    Description of Authority:

    • To makes decisions that results in increased product sales and margins for the company which adhere to company policy.
    • To negotiate orders at margins within prescribed limits. Authorize multipliers to representatives within those limits.
    • Recommend appointing and terminating reps.
    • Work hand in hand with the Inside Applied Group to provide representative with timely information

    Position Qualifications:

    • Should possess an engineering or technical degree or equivalent HVAC related experience.
    • Should have at least 5 years’ experience in selling and promoting HVAC and or Air Handling equipment
    • Must have demonstrated previous success in sales management.
    • Excellent communication skills, organization skills, leadership abilities, managerial skills and interpersonal skills
    • Must be willing and able to travel 50% or more of the time.
    • Must have good presentation skill, be self-confident and self-motivated
    • Must be able to assume increasing responsibilities and be viewed as a long-term participant in the growth and development of SEMCO.
